Beaulieu’s call for Pink Cars!

Beaulieu’s call for Pink Cars!

A trip to the Montagu’s “National Motor Museum” at Beaulieu permitted me a photo opportunity I wasn’t expecting – and the chance to sit in a vintage Hillman Imp into the bargain! How did this come about? Well, Beaulieu called upon owners of pink cars to take part in it’s inaugural ‘Simply Pink‘ rally which took place on 31st May 2015. There were no limitations – classic or modern, fast or slow, big or small, all vehicles were welcome – they just had to be pink!

The event was in support of the Breast Cancer Campaign, and attracted quite a range of cars. The ones I was most interested in were the Hillman Imp, since I used to drive a sky blue one (OOO560D – is it still on the road I wonder?) after I passed my test back in 1975, and a Morgan – I have always loved these cars ever since my dad took me on a visit to the Morgan works in Malvern, Worcs – before I could drive!

The last photo shows a 1930s Austin 7 – looking pale, but still pink!

Lest I should forget that this blog is on an Audio website,  some audio memorabilia caught my eye whilst exploring the Motor Museum – and the pink theme is partially maintained too!

A very pink record!

A great day out – and in a good cause.
