THE PROCESS

Transfer DAT Tapes to CD:

Before the advent of hard drive digital master recording, the Digital Audio Tape format was king of the studio. DAT still finds use in studios today, but is becoming less common as the newer technology is adopted.

FOSTEX D-20

To playback your DAT tapes we use a Fostex D-20 professional timecode master recorder, before commencement of digital restoration and transfer to CD.

As standard service, individual tracks are separated to give full track skip/search functions. CD text is added for convenience, and your disc is returned to you in a CD jewel case. Longer transfers may require a second disc, and this will be returned to you in a double CD jewel case. The transfer cost includes on-CD printing and a bespoke cover (front and back CD inserts) with full track listing. Alternative file formats (WMA, .mp3) can also be accommodated if preferred.

Any number of duplicate CDs (of non-copyright transfers) can be provided - see Prices page for details.

Contact Us to discuss your requirements.
