PACKAGING INFORMATION

Secure packaging is essential…

Your valuable records are fragile media, and may indeed be unique or rare, and so
demand careful packing before sending through secure mail to
Audio Restored.

The best advice is to use as much packaging as you can, e.g. corrugated cardboard either side of the record, with corrugations at 90 degrees to each other for maximum rigidity.

Bubble wrap is excellent for absorbing shocks so adds a second layer of protection.

If sending several records, separate each one with card which has been cut slightly larger than the records themselves. Then using adhesive tape, stick the card edges together forming a
tight package. Bubble wrap, as before, and either cover with brown paper, or better still, place in a secondary container e.g. larger box filled with polystyrene shapes.

Generally speaking, cassettes, cartridges and open reel tapes are more robust than records, but it is still advisable to pack these carefully in a strong cardboard box and bubblewrap. Please ensure open reel tape is securely fastened to the spool, and cannot become unwound during transit.

If you do not wish to post your records or tapes, and are local to the studio, I am happy to accept personal callers – please contact me in advance to confirm arrangements.
